Hoshab incident: BHC orders suspension DC Kech

QUETTA: Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the suspension of deputy commissioner Kech, assistant commissioner regarding the Hoshab incident. A blast had claimed the lives of two children in Hoshab tehsil district Kech on October 10.
A division bench of the BHC passed this order on a petition filed by Senator Kamran Murtaza Advocate, the former president supreme court bar association on Monday. The bench comprises the Chief Justice BHC, Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Abdul Hameed Baloch.
The court directed the deputy inspector general of crimes police to form an investigation team to probe into the incident. The court also directed the counter-terrorism department (CTD) to register FIR in this regard.
The heirs of the victims staged a six-day sit-in Red Zone area of Quetta while demanding justice for the minor children. However, the protesters announced an end to the sit-in and burial of minors tomorrow in Kahan area of Quetta.
The court also declared the minors as Shaheed at the request of Senator Kamran Murtaza and directed the advocate general to ensure compensation to the victims’ families. The BHC also directed the Balochistan government to pay for the medical treatment of a child wounded in the same incident in advance. Currently, the child is under treatment in Liaquat National Hospital Karachi.
