An Appeal to CM Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has abolished 134 seats reserved for the medical students of Balochistan. Students from Quetta and other districts of Balochistan would compete on these seats and get admissions in world-fame medical colleges of the country.
HEC was financing students of Balochistan and the erstwhile FATA in various medical colleges of the country. However, currently, the HEC has ended the Balochistan and FATA medical scholarship program. According to reports, lawmakers from the erstwhile FATA have succeeded in the restoration of medical seats under the scholarship program.
However, the Balochistan government is yet to take up the issue of HEC scholarship seats with the federal government. There are very limited opportunities for students of Balochistan and the quality of education in general and medical colleges, in particular, is poor as compared to well-reputed medical institutions of the country.
As a new CM of Balochistan, you have taken up major issues of the province with Islamabad. We, therefore, request you to take up the issue of HEC seats for Balochistan so that competent and deserving students of the province could get an opportunity to study in well-reputed medical institutions of the country.
