QUETTA: Three new cases of novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Balochistan on Sunday. This was confirmed by the Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani.
With the confirmation of new cases, the number of cases has risen to 189 in the province. Mr. Shahwani however said 49 out of a total of 189 cases were locally confirmed. Most of the cases confirmed in Balochistan were related to Zaireen (Shia pilgrims) returning from Iran.
Earlier, in response to a question, Mr. Shahwani warned, “If people refused to stay at home, the pandemic would be out of control here”. In Balochistan, the provincial government has declared an emergency and put all health professionals on high alert to cope with the situation developed in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Mr. Shahwani stated that government was committed to providing personal protection equipment to doctors and all health professionals since they are our frontline soldiers battling against the deadly virus in the province.
