Dera Allah Yar: A deadly land dispute erupted in Sobatpur on the first day of the new year, leaving three farmers dead and five others injured. This tragic incident highlights the persistent challenges of tribal conflicts and land disputes in Balochistan.

The violent clash took place in the Ka­lani area of Sobatpur, involving the Chhatani and Manjhani factions of the Khosa tribe. The conflict over agricultural land escalated quickly, with armed individuals using modern weapons, turning the area into a battlefield.

According to police reports, the victims—Manzoor Hussain, Haq Nawaz, and Ghulam Hussain—were farmers from the Manjhani faction and are believed to belong to the Lashari tribe. Five other individuals, including Moujuddin and Abdul Majeed Khosa, sustained injuries during the prolonged exchange of gunfire.

Local authorities, led by SSP Sobatpur Muhammad Yousaf Bhangar, responded swiftly, deploying a heavy police contingent to the scene. After hours of gunfire, the police successfully brought the situation under control. The deceased were transported to the Civil Hospital for postmortem, and the injured are now receiving medical treatment.

This tragic incident underscores the urgent need for resolving land disputes and tribal tensions in Balochistan, which continue to claim lives and disrupt communities.
