Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan has strongly dispelled the impression regarding pressure on the part of Prime Minister’s Adviser on health, Zafar Mirza and Zulfi Bukhari for the opening of Pak-Iran border Taftan in the aftermath of the outbreak of COVID-19 in the neighboring country.

“We could not deny entry to our own citizens when Iran asked them to leave”, the Chief Minister said in an interview with DawnNews TV on Sunday evening.

The Chief Minister spoke at length about the steps taken by his government for battling the novel coronavirus.

In response to a question, the Chief Minister said the following steps taken by his government with regard to quarantining the Zaireen, the spread of the deadly virus was halted from spread to a large extent. He said since the global outbreak of coronavirus, over 9 lakh passengers landed in Pakistan from foreign countries. Who quarantined and conducted their screening and testing, the Chief Minister asked?

To a question, Jam Kamal Khan stated that currently Balochistan governmental the capacity to treat 1200 patients and had 56 ventilators this time. He, however, said the government was also in contact with private hospitals to cope with the situation in the case of any emergency in the future.
