Over a dozen doctors have been tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Quetta. Most of the patients are young doctors serving in civil and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta.

“Yes over a dozen doctors have been infected with coronavirus”, Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani said.

However, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) put the number of higher than what is being quoted by officials. Dr. Rahim Babar, the Spokesman YDA said the number of doctors tested positive for coronavirus is around 15.

Hitherto, 9 doctors tested positive for coronavirus in Quetta

The YDA has also announced to take out a  protest rally against no availability of personal protection kits (PPEs) tomorrow from civil hospital to the chief minister’s secretariat. The doctors have been protesting against no availability of PPEs since the outbreak of the virus.

Two senior doctors hailing from Quetta’s civil hospital also include among the doctors tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

However, the Spokesman government of Balochistan, Liaquat Shahwani says that the government was committed to providing all PPEs to doctors serving and battling the deadly virus in the province.
