QUETTA: The ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leadership has contacted the five angry legislators of the party to address their reservations. Four ministers of the ruling party had signed over their resignations as a protest against what they claim step-motherly treatment meted out to them by the chief minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan.

“Chief Minister Jam Kamal has contacted one of our colleagues”, one of the dissidents who preferred not to be named told Quetta Voice on Sunday evening. The chief minister has assured us to address our reservations, he added.

The dissidents include provincial ministers Noor Muhammad Dumar, Mitha Khan Kakar, Muhammad Khan Toor Utmankhail, Sardar Masood Luni and female legislator Laila Tareen. “We have decided in principle to protest before the chief minister”, one of the ministers told Quetta Voice.

However, a breakthrough was made on Sunday as two senators of the ruling BAP including Ahmed Khan and Naseebullah Bazai came from Islamabad to hear the reservations and complaints of dissidents. “We conveyed our reservations to the BAP leadership and chief minister”, the dissident minister mentioned.

Zahoor Buledi, Balochistan’s finance minister and central leader of BAP tweeted on Sunday that there were no differences among the party’s leaders and that the reservations of colleagues would be addressed.

The dissidents complained that they have been ignored in all key decision making, development, and portfolios by the chief minister Jam Kamal Khan and party’s high command.

“We have been assured solution of our issues”, the minister concluded, giving no other details about the complaints and solution.
