CMIT Balochistan to probe into BBISE numbers scandal

QUETTA: Chief Minister Inspection Team (CMIT) will investigate the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) numbers scandal. Additional Secretary CMIT, Jehangir Khan Kakar would lead the committee to probe into the corruption, misuse of authority, and lapses at the BBISE, a notification issued by the CMIT said.

Professor Saadullah Khan Tokhai, the former Chairman BBISE, Gulab Khan, Deputy Director, Abdul Ghafoor Agha, Deputy Director Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Qasim Mengal, Assistant Executive Officer (AEO) would be members of the committee.

The committee would file a report within two weeks, the notification said. A committee headed by the former Secretary of Higher Education, Bashir Ahmed Bangulzai had revealed malpractices, nepotism, and institutional inefficiency in the BBISE.

The committee had also revealed that complete examination centers were sold by some elements within the board. Bule-eyed and influential students were given the highest marks in the metric and FSc/FA examinations.
