The Medical Superintendent (MS) Civil Hospital Quetta has issued show-cause notices to 87 chronic absentee employees. The employees have been missing from their duties for years and failed to perform their duties.

“We have decided to take action against employees missing for years”, Dr. Amin Khan Mandokhail, the MS Civil Hospital told Quetta Voice. He said if the employees failed to ensure their presence, an action against BEDA act would be taken against them.

Most of the employees have been working at the residences of influential people for years without the approval of the concerned authority, an official of the Civil Hospital revealed. He requested anonymity.

Most of the employees belong to a lower grade. Since assuming the charge, the newly appointed MS, Dr. Amin Mandokhail has taken a number of initiatives to improve health services in the province’s ancient hospital.

“So many speed breakers, but I am still determined to do something for the people”, Mr. Mandokhail told Quetta Voice. He said a number of initiatives were taken to improve the state of health facilities in the hospital.
