QUETTA: Polling for local government elections ended across Balochistan amid reports of violent clashes on Sunday.
One person was killed during an armed clash between two groups in Balochistan’s Noshki district. The incident happened in Pidag union council.
Violent clashes between rival political groups were also reported in Balochistan’s Naseerabad and Chaman districts. Over a dozen people were injured in clashes. “Administration overtly supported the ruling party”, Mir Sadiq Umrani, the Pakistan Peoples Party leader claimed.
Counting votes underway in 32 districts of Balochistan amid tight security.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Quddus Bizenjo has taken notice of violent clashes and directed the authorities to submit a report in this regard.
