CHAMAN: At least five people were killed and seven injured as a vehicle fell into a ravine in the Shela Bagh Khojak mountain on Tuesday. Levies sources said the vehicle fell into the ravine because of overspeeding.

Rescue workers and local tribesmen reached the spot and shifted the injured to district headquarters hospital Chaman for medical treatment. An emergency was imposed in the hospital to provide medical treatment to the injured in the traffic accident.

Levies sources said the victims had come to Chaman for a picnic on the eve of Eid ul Azha when the tragedy struck. This incident has come a few days after a similar deadly traffic incident claimed 20 lives.

In Balochistan, traffic accidents have claimed thousands of precious human lives during the last few years. Particularly, such deadly traffic accidents have become the order of the day on Quetta-Karachi, Quetta-Zhob, Chaman, and Sibi highways.
