Acting Governor of Balochistan Jan Muhammad Jamali stated that female cadet colleges should be established in the province, to provide quality of education. Mr. Jamali expressed these views in an event organized regarding the sixteen days of activism against violence on women at Governor House on Friday.
A large number of representatives of civil society, media and women forums including Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Mah Jabeen Sheeran, Provincial Spokesperson Farah Azim Shah, Fauzia, Sana Durrani, Provincial Secretaries Sikandar Shah and Qamar Tariq were also present at the event.
The Acting Governor of Balochistan said that women are half of our total population, which cannot be ignored in any case. Instead of limiting women’s rights and powers to sixteen days, it should be continued even more, Mr. Jamali added.
Addressing the participants, the Acting Governor of Balochistan said that the women of Balochistan are not less than anyone in terms of capabilities. Like female cadet colleges in the province, we should open more institutes in line with modern requirements so that women can teach and learn modern skills. It is gratifying that our women are honing their talents on various fronts, Mr. Jamali added.
“Providing education to the female population of Balochistan is our first priority “, Mr. Jamali said. It is our national duty to become the voice of all the voiceless people of our society, he added.
At the end, Acting Governor Balochistan Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali distributed commemorative shields to the speakers and organizers of the event held regarding the sixteen days of activism against violence on women.

The recent flash floods and torrential rain further increased the problems for women specially in getting education. Most of the Balochistan’s population has vulnerable financial condition, which became more fragile after the passage of floods. A large number of girls are out of schools because their parents cannot pay their dues.
