Statue of Benazir Bhutto removed in Quetta after criticism on media

QUETTA: Statue of Benazir Bhutto, the former prime minister and chairperson of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was removed after criticism on social media. The statue of BB Shaheed was installed at the Benazir Bhutto park in Quetta. On Wednesday, a large number of PPP supporters gathered and removed the sculpture because of its substandard quality.

This sculpture hurt the sentiments and feelings of PPP supporters, Sarbuland Jogezai, the PPP leader said. He said the government had to review its quality and formation before installing it at the Shaheed BB park. Those installing sub-standard statues should be identified and action should be taken against them, Sardar Sarbaland Jogezai demanded.

The statue of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto was removed due to non-standard and lack of suitable color, Provincial Secretary Information Sardar Sarbaland Jogezai said.
The sculpture of the BB shaheed was widely shared on social media networks including Twitter and Facebook. People lashed out at the responsible people for installing the sculpture with low standards.
