Iranian Consul General based in Quetta, Hassan Darvaish on Wednesday said his country was ready to provide gas facilities to Pakistan. He said Iran was ready to resolve Pakistan’s energy problems. He expressed these views while talking to Quetta-based journalists at the Iranian Consulate.
Hassan Darvaish stated that direct flights would be commenced from Quetta to Tehran very soon. This would address a long-standing demand of the people of Balochistan, the Consul General stated. He said Iran enjoys cordial relations with Pakistan.
Iran’s Consul General Hasan Darvish said that Iran and Pakistan have common interests, language, culture and religion, and the media can play a key role in promoting relations between the neighboring countries.
Pakistan’s foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has met Iran’s Foreign Minister Hussain Amir Abdullahian at the ECO Conference. Last year, relations in the economic sector have been promoted and we have reached a high level beyond the limited scale.
He said that the target of trade volume between Pakistan and Iran has been set at five billion dollars and this target can be reached by starting more economic activities. Ready, Iran welcomes the export of mangoes, rice and other fruit items from Pakistan. Media can play an important role in bringing the people and governments of the two neighboring friendly countries closer. Violent protests and sieges are not allowed in Iran.
Direct flights can start soon so that cooperation in the tourism and the economic sector can be further promoted. In this regard, an Iranian company is ready to start flights from Quetta to Tehran.
