UoB employees protest against non payment of salaries

Employees and faculty members of the University of Balochistan (UoB) staged a protest demonstration against the non-payment of salaries on Monday. The employees staged a protest demonstration inside the university and demanded immediate payment of salaries.

The protesters raised slogans in favor of ending the financial crisis of the university and the payment of salaries. They criticized the provincial government and raised slogans to provide the employees with the right to live.

Employees demanded immediate resolution of the financial crisis of UoB. The Joint Action Committee boycotted teaching and administrative affairs against the financial crisis in the institution. Classes, offices, and transport were also closed at Balochistan University and adjacent sub-campuses were under the boycott.

It should be noted that yesterday the Joint Action Committee of UOB announced a boycott of all services against the financial crisis. On this occasion, the leader of the Joint Action Committee, Professor Kaleem Barech said that “Balochistan University employees have not been paid for the last two months”. The boycott will continue until the end of the financial crisis and the payment of salaries.

Law College closed as a result of non-payment of salaries

It is also noteworthy that Law College has also been closed due to non-payment of salaries for the last two months. Balochistan University of Information Technology Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) lecturers and faculty members staged a protest against the non-payment of salaries. The university’s faculty took to grounds demanding payment of their salaries. There is too much inflation and we can not meet our basic needs due to no salaries from the university, a faculty member of BUITEMS stated.
