The Balochistan Wildlife department launched a crackdown against the illegal hunters operating in the Zhob district of the province on Monday evening. The department launched the crackdown after Chief Minister Balochistan took a notice of the illegal hunting of cranes and other migratory birds in the Qamruddin Karez area of the district.

The forest and wildlife officials recovered hunting nets left by the influential illegal hunters in the area. The illegal hunters managed to escape from the Qamruddin Karez and other areas famous for hosting migratory birds from Siberia.
Senior administration officials and wildlife visited the Qamruddin Karez area
Under the direction of Wildlife Balochistan Chief Conservator, Sharif Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Zhob, the Assistant Conservator Wildlife, Karam Khan Kakar Assistant Commissioner Kakar Khorasan Imam Bakhsh, SDO Wildlife Dawood Khan Mandukhel, In-charge Wildlife Basir Ahmad Kakar, SHO Kakar Khorasan Bakht Mir Khosti, Wildlife Staff Levies Force personnel visited Qamaruddin Kariz, Wahab Dam, Zari Digar, Wasta Kek Kontrokai, and other remote areas.
“We will continue these visits on a daily basis to bring an end to illegal hunting”, Karam Khan Kakar, the Assistant Conservator of Forest said.
Ashar, a local organization striving for the conservation of nature had demanded of the Balochistan government to take an action against the influential hunters engaged in the illegal hunting of cranes and other migratory birds.
