The Balochistan government declared high alert in the coastal areas of the province as cyclone byparjoy continues to grow in the Arabian sea and nears Mekran coastal belt. Section 144 declared in the coastal belt on the directives of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo.
All departments and law enforcement agencies put on high alert to tackle the situation after the cyclone byparjoy. Leaves of all government employees in the Mekran belt have been cancelled in view of the looming threat of the cyclone byparjoy, an official handout issued here on Monday said.
CM directs commissioners Mekran and Kalat to boost coordination
Mir Quddus Bizenjo has directed the Commissioner Mekran and Commissioner Kalat divisions to boost coordination and place all departments on high alert to avert any untoward incident.
He directed that coordination should be established among law enforcement agencies, civil administration and all relevant agencies in this regard. Fishermen think the sea is the best, they should be consulted on the situation, he directed the concerned departments.
The Director General (DG) Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), Jehanzaib Khan briefed the Chief Minister on the preparation of relief activities according to the expected situation.
DG PDMA reaches Gwadar to monitor the situation
DGP DMA is present in Gwadar with his team of missionaries and relief equipment. While continuously monitoring the situation, a plan of action should be prepared accordingly.
Preparations to effectively deal with all kinds of emergency situations in sea storms should be kept complete, the Chief Minister concluded.
