QUETTA: In Balochistan’s Naseerabad division, a non-Muslim was shortlisted as a candidate for the post of Pesh Imam (prayer leader) in the provincial food department. The shortlisting of the non-Muslim for the post of Pesh Iman went viral on social media with people criticizing the department.
Although, the food department was quick to reject reports about the shortlisting of the non-Muslim candidate for the post of Pesh Imam.
The food department rejects such reports
In Balochistan, the performance of government departments is not hidden from anyone, but many times these government departments also perform some such feats which remain in the news for a long time. One such interesting and unique incident took place in Balochistan when the Food Department shortlisted a Hindu candidate for the exam for the vacant post of Pesh Imam.
A few months ago, various vacancies were announced by the Department of Food, Balochistan, including the post of Pesh Imam for the department’s mosque. Candidates from all over the province applied.
A few days ago, the list of shortlisted candidates for the post of Pesh Imam announced by the Food Department for Naseerabad Division was released, which included the name of a candidate named Rahul Kalra, who was issued a roll number for the written test.
