MASTUNG: The central spokesman Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), Hafiz Hamdullah was injured in a blast in the Mastung district of Balochistan on Thursday. Police said 11 people were injured in the blast, which targeted the key religious leader. A woman was also among the injured.

Police said Hafiz Hamdullah’s vehicle was targeted through a roadside bomb. The PDM spokesman who is also the central leader of Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.

 

The JUI leader was going from Mastung to Mangochar when his vehicle was targeted by a bomb near the Choto area of Mastung.

All the injured were rushed to the Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital for medical treatment. An emergency was declared in the hospital to provide medical treatment to the injured of the blast.

The JUI leader shifted to Quetta for treatment

However, Hafiz Hamdullah was brought to Quetta for medical treatment. Police said the condition of Hafiz Hamdullah was out of danger.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Ali Mardan Domki strongly condemned the blast and directed the administration to arrest the culprits involved in the attack. In a statement issued after the incident, he said the perpetrators of the attack would be brought to justice.

The blast came a day after the IS commander’s killing in Mastung

The blast came a day after the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed a key commander of the outlawed Islami State (IS) in the Mastung district of Balochistan. The Spokesman of CTD mentioned that the accused was involved in attacks on Siraj ul Haq, the Jamaat e Islami (JI) leader, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi of JUI, and other leaders. He said the IS commander was involved in a series of terrorist activities including attacks on the minority Shia Hazara in the Mastung and Mach areas of Balochistan.
