KARACHI: In a surprising political development, a cadre of influential electables has joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), bolstering the party’s strength ahead of upcoming elections. Notable among them is former Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo, marking a significant shift in alliances as he joins forces with the PPP.

This move follows the footsteps of his political rival, former Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, who recently aligned with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The entrance of these influential figures into PPP’s fold is expected to reshape the political landscape, setting the stage for a compelling electoral contest shortly.

Mir Sikandar Umrani, the former Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) minister also joined the PPP. However, Mir Shafiq ur Rehman Mengal also held negotiations with PPP decision-maker Asif Ali Zardari.

However, Mengal has not made any formal joining of the PPP.
