QUETTA: The Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) announced a long march from Quetta to Islamabad against the alleged extra-judicial killing of Balach Baloch. The protesters continued their protest for the third consecutive day in the Sariab Road area of Quetta on Wednesday.
“We are going to Islamabad to record our protest”, Mah Rang Baloch, one of the BYC leaders said at a news conference. The protesters reached Quetta the other day from Turbat against the killing of a young man.
They accused the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of killing Balach Baloch. The charge was vehemently denied by the CTD and termed the killing as a result of an armed clash between miscreants and security forces on the Pasni road area of Turbat.
The BYC did not give the exact timing of launching the long march from Quetta to Turbat. However, they said their protest would continue.
This announcement on the part of the BYC came a day after the Balochistan High Court (BHC) ordered the suspension of four CTD personnel in Turbat in connection with the extra-judicial killing of Balach Baloch. The court had also ordered a registration of fir against the four personnel. “Court has given a relief to the family members of Balach”, Jan Achakzai, the Balochistan caretaker information minister said. He said some anti-state elements within the sit-in were exploiting women to serve their nefarious designs.
