QUETTA: In a major political shift, the former caretaker interior minister, Sarfaraz Bugti joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the presence of party decision-maker, Asif Ali Zardari in Turbat. After decades, the PPP organized an impressive show in Turbat to gain political support before the fast-approaching general elections.
Asif Zardari addressed the PPP workers convention in Turbat, Mekran and highlighted the party’s contribution to the people of Balochistan. Zahoor Buledi, the former finance minister of Balochistan, and other PPP leaders of Mekran organized the show to make the party’s presence felt in the intellectual capital of the province.

“This is a matter of honor for me to join the PPP”, Mr. Bugti told the flags-waving supporters of the PPP in Turbat. He praised the party and its leadership for what he called addressing the grievances of the masses of Balochistan.
“This is the revival of PPP in Mekran”, Zahoor Buledi said. He said the masses have decided to support the party in the upcoming elections.
Sarfaraz Bugti has announced joining the PPP after over a dozen joined the Pakistan Muslim League (N). Political pundits term Bugti’s decision as one of the important unfolding political events in Balochistan.
Balochistan Plays a Key Role In The Development Of Country
Addressing the workers’s convention, Asif Zardari stated that Balochistan’s resources were crucial for the country. He said his party gave Aghaz e Haqooq Balochistan a package and took several steps to remove the sense of deprivation of the people of the province.
Regarding the Afghan refugees, Asif Zardari said Pakistan provided hospitality for decades but they turned against Pakistan. He said the PPP would take the country out of the prevailing financial and political crisis and pave the way for a stable and strong Pakistan in the comity of nations.
If came in power, we would launch projects for the development and prosperity of Balochistan, Asif Zardari assured the workers.
