QUETTA: Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Mir Sadiq Umrani has reaffirmed the party’s stance on maintaining Pakistan’s stability and rejecting terrorism, amidst ongoing protests in Gwadar, Balochistan. Speaking on the situation, Umrani stressed the importance of democracy, peace, and dialogue as the means to resolve the current issues.

“We are committed to democracy and the rule of law,” Umrani stated. “Having spent ten years imprisoned for these values, I understand the importance of constitutional supremacy.” He further clarified that while the PPP seeks peaceful resolutions to Balochistan’s challenges, no one would be allowed to disrupt public order or threaten the stability of Pakistan.

His comments come as the Baloch Yekjehti Committee (BYC) continues its protests in Gwadar, with demands that have led to heightened tensions in the region. Umrani’s message underscores the broader political consensus on the need for maintaining national security while addressing local grievances through negotiation and dialogue.
