The Corona Cell Balochistan has confirmed 357 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Wednesday as the tally reached 8,794. Cases in the province appear to be on a constant rise during last few days as the testing capacity has been improved by the provincial government.

According to the daily situation report shared by the Corona Cell Balochistan, the virus claimed 93 lives so far in the province. Balochistan health department has conducted over 40,000 tests of the novel coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The Balochistan government has declared Fatima Jinnah Chest and General Hospital and Sheikh Zayed Hospital as specific treatment location for the COVID19 patients. Critical patients are admitted to these two hospitals.

“Currently, over 110 serious patients are admitted in these two hospitals”, a doctor serving in of these two hospitals the daily Quetta Voice. The doctor declined to be named since he was not authorized to speak to the media.

The doctor further revealed that the two hospitals had only 28 ventilators to keep serious patients battling the deadly virus. An increasing number of patients has really distorted all health professionals, the doctor said.

In Balochistan, so far over 3,000 patients have recovered from the deadly virus. Most of the patients have defeated the virus at their homes in isolation.
