Opposition parties in Balochistan Assembly have staged a protest demonstration against the provincial government for what it called its failure to address the issues faced by masses. Opposition legislators took out a protest rally from the Balochistan Assembly after a thorough consultation. The protesting legislators staged a sit-in at the chow leading to the chief minister’s secretariat.
Malik Sikandar Khan Advocate, the opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly led the protesting legislators from JUI (F), Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP). Former chief minister, Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani, Sanaullah Baloch of BNP (M), Akhtar Hussain Langove, Abdul Wahid Siddiqui, Nasrullah Zarai and other lawmakers were also part of the protest demonstration.
The opposition members lamented that the chief minister Jam Kamal led government has totally ignored the opposition in all important matters. They claimed that the government has failed to tackle the post COVID19 situation and other issues faced by the province. They also lashed out at the government for what they claim its unjust approach with regard to the distribution of development funds.
The opposition legislators spent hours at the Chowk leading to the chief minister’s secretariat. However, neither the chief minister nor the cabinet members visited the protesting legislators to address their grievances.
