Drivers protesters at BUITEMS gate

Manan Mandokhail:

Quetta – The Beauthams University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Staff Association has issued a strong statement condemning the repeated and prolonged closure of campus gates, which recently left students and employees confined on university grounds for extended periods without any clear reason.

The association emphasized that it is the administration’s responsibility to address and resolve these recurring issues to maintain a peaceful and productive educational environment.

In the statement, the association highlighted that the closures severely impact university drivers and bus conductors, who work under challenging conditions and often transport students late into the night. The association warned that if an accident were to occur under these circumstances, accountability would be essential.

Having previously raised this concern with BUITEMS management, the association reiterated its call for a permanent solution to avoid further disruption. The association has cautioned that if these concerns continue to go unaddressed, they may organize a protest to protect their members’ rights and ensure safer conditions for all involved.

This urgent call underscores the importance of clear protocols to safeguard students, faculty, and staff, while preventing unnecessary delays that could compromise safety and well-being at BUITEMS.
