QUETTA: Opposition lawmakers in the Balochistan Assembly staged a noisy protest on Tuesday evening, criticizing the government’s failure to address the worsening law and order situation and demanding the immediate recovery of a kidnapped child, Muhammad Musawir.

The lawmakers gathered near the Speaker’s chair, voicing strong objections over the government’s inability to ensure peace in the province. Opposition Leader Mir Younas Aziz Zehri accused the government of failing to protect lives and property, highlighting its inability to recover the kidnapped child.

Speaker of the Assembly, Captain (Retd.) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, urged the lawmakers to return to their seats, assuring them that their grievances would be addressed.

He directed the Chief Secretary of Balochistan and Inspector General of Police to brief the assembly on the law and order situation.

Provincial Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani reassured the house that the government is committed to recovering the kidnapped child and ensuring public safety. He added that the matter would be further discussed with Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.

The opposition’s demonstration highlighted growing concerns over insecurity and the government’s performance in addressing public safety issues.
