ISLAMABAD: Clashes erupted in Islamabad on Tuesday as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convoys entered the capital for a major protest demanding the release of their leader, former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

2.Interior Minister’s Statement

Speaking at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the loss of four personnel and labeled the violence as “terrorism.” During his visit to D-Chowk, he praised the Rangers and police for their service, assuring them that their sacrifices would not be in vain.

3.PTI Allegations

PTI claimed that Rangers used live ammunition against their supporters, resulting in the deaths of two protesters and injuries to four others. The party reiterated its call for peaceful protests while demanding justice for the alleged victims.

State media announced that the military had been deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution to control the situation and manage “miscreants.” Security in the capital remains on high alert.
