QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly has submitted a resolution urging the federal government to ban Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing the party of inciting unrest and targeting state institutions.
The resolution was presented by provincial ministers Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Mir Muhammad Asim Kurd, Ms Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, and Bakht Muhammad Kakar, along with parliamentary secretaries Wali Muhammad Noorzai and Barkat Ali Rind, and MPA Zarak Khan Mandokhail. It strongly condemns PTI’s actions following the nationwide riots on May 9.
The submitted resolution outlines several accusations against PTI, including:
- Spreading Chaos: Alleging that PTI’s violent agenda has negatively impacted the judiciary, media, and economy.
- Anti-Federation Activities: Highlighting statements by a provincial Chief Minister against the Federation, which it claims align with anti-state agendas.
- Misuse of Resources: Accusing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government of using state machinery to attack federal institutions.
- Baseless Allegations: Condemning PTI’s resolution in the KP Assembly targeting security forces.
The resolution expressed unwavering support for Pakistan’s armed forces, praising their sacrifices and role as protectors of the nation. It condemned PTI for allegedly fostering public unrest and targeting state institutions.
A Call for Immediate Ban:
The resolution urges the federal government to ban PTI to curb the party’s alleged anti-state activities and restore peace and stability. This submission reflects Balochistan’s stance against political unrest and its support for national institutions and the armed forces.
