Zhob: The district administration launched a large-scale operation against illegal poppy cultivation in the Laka Band area of Zhob under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Zhob.
The Levies Force carried out an extensive crackdown from morning till evening, destroying poppy crops spread over 50 acres of land.
During the operation, authorities set fire to illegally cultivated poppy fields and confiscated materials used for cultivation. Additionally, rooms and storage facilities belonging to those involved in illegal drug cultivation were also burned down.
Assistant Commissioner Zhob met with local elders and community representatives, urging them to cooperate with the district administration in preventing illegal drug activities and ensuring a drug-free environment in the region.
This operation is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to curb drug production and trafficking in Balochistan.
