Quetta, February 11 – Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, chaired a review meeting on the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Program, focusing on sending skilled youth abroad for employment.
Key Highlights:
• The program to send skilled Balochistan youth abroad for employment has been finalized, officials briefed.
• The first batch of 24 trained youth will depart for Saudi Arabia next week.
• More candidates are being nominated for the initiative.
• This is Pakistan’s first-ever government-led program starting from Balochistan, said CM Sarfaraz Bugti.
• The five-year goal is to train 30,000 youth and send them abroad for employment.
• The CM directed officials to remove all obstacles and expedite the process.
• Coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Interior will be ensured to streamline visa and passport processing.
• Arrangements should be finalized to send 2,375 youth abroad by June this year, ordered CM Bugti.
• Pre-departure medical tests of selected candidates will be conducted in government diagnostic labs.
• Selected candidates from Balochistan should not face unnecessary delays in Islamabad, directed the CM.
• The entire selection process must be based on merit, emphasized CM Sarfaraz Bugti.
• Eligibility tests and selection procedures should be accelerated.
• The government will provide all necessary resources to ensure the success of the program, assured CM Bugti.
• The operational budget will be provided on time, he added.
• All hurdles must be removed to make this a model program.
• The Youth Skills Development Program will contribute to economic growth and foreign exchange earnings.
• “We are committed to making this initiative a success and will provide all required resources,” said CM Sarfaraz Bugti.
The meeting was attended by Advisor for Labor & Manpower Sardar Ghulam Rasool Umrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Finance Secretary Imran Zarqoon, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Labor Secretary Niaz Ahmed Nichari, Director General B-TEVTA Tariq Javed Mengal, and other senior officials.
