ISLAMABAD: United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres underlined the need for improvement of relations between Pakistan and India. Both militarily and verbally, relations should be de-escalate, he told a press conference in Islamabad on Sunday evening. He was addressing a press conference along with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
However, the foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated that meeting with UN SG was rewarding and interesting so far. Qureshi expressed concern over the grave human rights violations by India in occupied Kashmir and urged upon the international community to play its role to bring an end to violations.
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres arrived in Islamabad on Sunday to participate in conference regarding Afghan refugees. Pakistan’s permanent representative at the UN Munir Akram received the UN secretary general upon his arrival at Nur Khan airbase. Officials of foreign ministry were also present on the occasion.

Mr. Antonio would address a conference in Islamabad, which will mark 40 years of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. The two day conference regarding the Afghan refugees would being in Islamabad on February 17th in recognition of Pakistan’s wholehearted support for Afghan refugees.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate the conference.
