Islamabad — Prominent Pakistani politician and central leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), Samar Haroon Bilour, has announced her resignation from the party and her joining of Pakistan Muslim League (N). She made the announcement on Monday through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), sparking widespread discussion in political circles.

In her statement, Samar Haroon Bilour cited “personal reasons” for leaving the ANP but expressed respect and admiration for Wali Bagh, the party workers, and the ANP’s ideology. She described her political journey with the party as a memorable and important chapter in her life.

She revealed that after a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, she accepted his offer to join PML-N in order to contribute to the country’s development, stability, and public welfare.

Samar Bilour was considered one of the most active and vocal female leaders in the ANP and had consistently expressed strong opinions on political and social issues. Her joining of PML-N has been welcomed by party leaders and workers, while some analysts are calling it a significant political development ahead of the upcoming elections.
