QUETTA: The Balochistan government has taken major steps to promote inclusivity and social harmony by approving the province’s first transgender policy, setting up an endowment fund for minorities, and imposing a province-wide ban on hate speech.
The decisions were made during the 19th cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, who called them a guarantee of public interest and sustainable development. He reaffirmed his government’s commitment to practical reforms that safeguard the rights of marginalized groups, including women, minorities, and the transgender community, while also promoting equal opportunities and social justice.
Alongside these measures, the cabinet endorsed projects to improve healthcare, education, and infrastructure, including the establishment of a modern hospital in Dalbandin and stricter rules for medical waste management. The creation of new tehsils and restoration of historic district names were also approved to enhance service delivery. CM Bugti stressed that these decisions reflect transparency, good governance, and a progressive vision for Balochistan’s future.
