Quetta (Web Desk) – The bodies of Ziarat Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Afzal and his son have reportedly been recovered, sources confirmed on Saturday. Both had been abducted nearly two months ago from the Zezri area of Ziarat district by unidentified armed men.

A few days earlier, kidnappers had released a video in which Muhammad Afzal and his son appeared, pleading for their release and urging that the captors’ demands be met.

So far, there has been no official statement from the provincial authorities, and the family of the slain officer has also not commented on the tragic development.

The incident has raised serious concerns over the security situation in Balochistan, where targeted abductions have continued to haunt government officials and civilians alike.
