: On the directives of the Director General FIA, a major crackdown against hawala, hundi, and illegal currency exchange networks continues in Balochistan. The FIA Commercial Banking Circle Quetta and the Composite Circle Gwadar conducted successful operations, arresting four suspects involved in unlawful money transactions.

According to the FIA spokesperson, the arrested individuals have been identified as Haji Sharif, Abdul Rehman, Riaz, and Nazir Ahmed. They were taken into custody from different areas of Quetta and Gwadar.

During the raids, the FIA recovered a significant amount of foreign and local currency, including:

•USD 1,072

•5,770 Afghanis

•2,485 Turkish Lira

•900,000 Indonesian Rupiah

•5.3 million Iranian Rial

•2.7 million Pakistani Rupees

In addition, more than 23 checkbooks, mobile phones, and crucial documents were seized. Investigations revealed that the suspects were running illegal currency exchange businesses without licenses and had conducted hawala/hundi transactions worth millions of rupees through multiple bank accounts.

The FIA further stated that the arrested suspects failed to justify the seized currency. Cases have been registered, and detailed investigations are underway. Raids are also being conducted to arrest other accomplices linked to the illegal network.
