News Desk: A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted Quetta and its surrounding areas on Sunday, as confirmed by the Seismological Center Pakistan.
According to officials, the epicenter of the earthquake was recorded about 65 kilometers west of Quetta, while the tremors originated from a depth of 25 kilometers beneath the earth’s surface.
The sudden quake triggered fear and panic among residents, forcing many to rush out of their homes. However, no reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far. Emergency services and local authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation.
Pakistan is considered one of the earthquake-prone regions due to its location on active fault lines. Experts frequently advise residents to remain alert and adopt safety measures in case of aftershocks.
