MASTUNG: The body of DSP Yousuf Reki, a senior police officer from Noshki who had been missing for several days, was discovered near Kardgap in Mastung district, Balochistan, on Thursday. Officials confirmed that the officer had been abducted and later shot dead.
According to police reports, DSP Reki was last seen traveling alone from Noshki to Quetta late Saturday night when he went missing. His body was recovered from the Killi Sharbat Khan area of Mastung and shifted to the district hospital for postmortem examination.
Investigators revealed that the officer had been tortured before being shot at close range, sustaining multiple bullet wounds to the chest. Police teams later reached the site and collected spent shells, blood samples, and other forensic evidence for further investigation.
Senior officers of the Balochistan Police expressed deep sorrow and condemned the brutal killing, describing it as a great loss for the provincial police force. DSP Reki was widely respected for his courage, professionalism, and commitment to law enforcement in Noshki.
Authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to trace and apprehend those involved in the incident.
