QUETTA, November 14, 2025: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has said that the establishment of a unified law-enforcement force across the province will serve as a major step toward lasting peace and stability.
A high-level review meeting on administrative and technical matters regarding the integration of the Levies Force into the police was held on Friday at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The session was chaired by CM Bugti, while Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqaat, Inspector General Police Muhammad Tahir Khan, Director General Levies Abdul Ghafar Magsi, Risaldar Majors and other senior officials attended.
During the meeting, officers briefed the participants on issues being faced by Levies personnel transitioning into the police department. Various proposals were presented to streamline the administrative process and address concerns related to service structure, training and career progression.
The chief minister directed authorities to finalize recommendations regarding one-step promotion for Levies Risaldar Majors, as well as matters related to promotions, postings and seniority for all ranks, ensuring the transition takes place smoothly and respectfully.
It was unanimously agreed that transparency and merit would remain the guiding principles in the Levies-Police merger. The CM ordered the introduction of modern training modules and basic police training for Levies officers and jawans to enhance institutional capability.
CM Bugti emphasized that making the integration process functional and efficient would significantly strengthen coordination among law-enforcement agencies. He said the merger would boost operational effectiveness and help improve security across Balochistan.
He reiterated that establishing a unified force throughout the province would be a milestone for maintaining law and order. He added that welfare, professional development and career planning of officers and personnel remain top government priorities.
Bugti further stated that the Levies-to-Police transition would be completed in phases under a coordinated and modern strategy, enabling Balochistan to build a stronger, more professional and unified force to better serve its people.
