The Balochistan government has decided to recruit 866 male doctors through Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) to improve health facilities in the province. The posts of medical officers B-17 male have been advertised by the BPSC on its Facebook page.

The Balochistan government had decided to recruit over 1,400 male and female medical officers to improve health facilities across the province. This decision was made in the aftermath of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus across the globe.

As per the zonal allocations 164 posts have been kept for Kalat Division, 90 Zhob Division, 93 Naseerabad Division, 113 Mekran Division, Quetta Zone 90, Sibi Zone 46, Quetta City 46, Merit 135, Disabled 37 and Minorities 52 seats.

The BPSC had earlier announced tests and interviews on 414 seats of male medical officers in the province. The BPSC is expected to announce 354 posts of lady medical officers and 201 dental surgeons very soon, Dr. Rahim Babar, the Spokesman YDA told the daily Quetta Voice.

The number of unemployed doctors including males and females is stated to be around 1,400 throughout the province, Noor ul Haq Baloch, Secretary Finance Balochistan told the daily Quetta Voice. With the appointment of doctors on new posts, there would be no unemployed doctor across the province, he said. This will also help improving health facilities for masses of the province, Mr. Baloch concluded.

Doctors’ appointment has been one of the longstanding demands of the Young Doctors Association Balochistan (YDA).
