News Desk: The government has announced a major reduction in petroleum prices, providing relief to consumers nationwide.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been slashed by Rs10.28 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs253.17 per litre.

High-speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs8.57 per litre, with the revised price now set at Rs257.08 per litre.

The notification added that the new prices became effective after midnight.
