News Desk: The Balochistan government has completed the recruitment of 3,000 doctors on a contract basis, resulting in the restoration and operation of 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs) across the province, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced on Friday.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, the chief minister said the provincial government is implementing targeted health sector reforms to strengthen primary healthcare and ensure medical services reach communities at the grassroots level. He emphasized that improving access to basic healthcare in remote and underdeveloped areas remains a central focus of the government’s public health policy.

CM Bugti said the revival of BHUs has brought much-needed relief to residents of far-flung districts where healthcare facilities were previously scarce or non-functional. He added that people living in areas affected by severe winter cold and intense summer heat can now seek primary medical treatment closer to their homes.

Highlighting the broader impact of the initiative, the chief minister said the reforms go beyond figures and represent real improvements in the quality of life and public well-being. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to further expanding healthcare infrastructure and services to ensure timely, accessible, and quality treatment for all citizens across Balochistan.
