Quetta, January 30: Security forces eliminated 41 terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Harnai and Panjgur districts of Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were carried out on January 29, targeting hideouts of terrorists linked to Fitna-al-Khawarij and Fitna-al-Hindustan.
According to ISPR, the presence of Fitna-al-Khawarij terrorists was reported on the outskirts of Harnai, prompting security forces to launch an IBO in the area. “During the operation, troops effectively engaged the terrorist hideout, and after an intense exchange of fire, 30 India-sponsored khawarij were neutralised,” the statement said.
ISPR added that a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the terrorists and subsequently destroyed.
In a separate operation in Panjgur, security forces dismantled a terrorist hideout and killed 11 terrorists belonging to Fitna-al-Hindustan, the military said. The statement further revealed that arms, ammunition, and cash looted during a bank robbery in Panjgur on December 15, 2025, were recovered from the killed terrorists.
“The terrorists were involved in multiple acts of terrorism in the past,” ISPR stated, adding that sanitisation operations are ongoing to ensure the complete clearance of the area.
Reaffirming its resolve, ISPR said, “The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-i-Istehkam’, approved by the federal apex committee under the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from Pakistan.”
The latest operations come weeks after security forces foiled a hostage attempt in Kharan district, killing 12 militants during multiple engagements.
