Quetta: Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, chaired a high-level review meeting to assess progress on the activation of trauma centers across the province and the enhancement of emergency healthcare services. The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Secretary Health Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Panizai, Secretary Finance Lal Jan Jaffar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Imran Zarkoon, Secretary Communications and Works Babar Khan, Managing Director Trauma Center Arbab Kamran Kasi, along with other relevant officials.
During the meeting, the Secretary Health briefed the Chief Minister on the newly constructed modern trauma center at Spini Road, Quetta. The briefing highlighted that the facility’s capacity has been significantly enhanced, with advanced emergency treatment services introduced to ensure immediate medical response in critical situations.
It was further informed that the clinical network of the trauma center has been expanded, while additional workforce requirements and budgetary provisions for the center were also discussed in detail.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed that the newly constructed trauma center be made operational immediately, emphasizing that merit must be strictly ensured in the recruitment of new staff. He stated that public service, particularly the improvement of healthcare facilities, remains a top priority of the provincial government.
The Chief Minister noted that the activation of the new trauma center would enable the provision of timely and high-quality emergency medical care, thereby helping save precious human lives. He also instructed that the completion of the trauma center at Sheikh Zayed Hospital be expedited at the earli est.
