News Desk, Dawood Ahmed: The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that, Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), held a meeting with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The discussion focused on matters of mutual interest, particularly the evolving regional security situation and the need to strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. Both sides reiterated their commitment to addressing terrorism and extremism through coordinated approaches, including intelligence sharing, joint strategies, and capacity building among member states.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir acknowledged the role of IMCTC in promoting collective security and enhancing coordination among Islamic countries to counter security threats. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued support for regional and international initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and stability.

Major General Al-Moghedi appreciated Pakistan’s contributions and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and praised the professionalism and operational preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to further enhance institutional collaboration to promote lasting peace, stability, and security in the region.

An IMCTC delegation is visiting Pakistan from February 2 to 6, 2026, to conduct a week-long training programme at the National University of Sciences and Technology. The training focuses on the reintegration and rehabilitation of extremist elements as part of broader counter-extremism efforts.
