KHUZDAR: Three people were shot dead by unknown armed assailants near Harnabo Dam in the Nall area of Khuzdar district on Friday, police said.
According to police officials, the victims — all residents of Wadh town — had gone to the nearby dam for a picnic when they were attacked. The deceased were identified as Abdul Saboor, son of Mola Bakhsh, Dr Abdul Rasheed, son of Ghaur Khan, and Munwar Lal, son of Chhato Mal.
Khuzdar Police Control confirmed that unidentified gunmen opened fire on the group at the dam site, killing all three on the spot before fleeing the area. The motive behind the attack could not be immediately ascertained.
Following the incident, police rushed to the scene, took custody of the bodies, and shifted them to a nearby hospital for medico-legal procedures. After completion of formalities, the bodies were handed over to the victims’ families.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are collecting evidence to trace those responsible. No arrests had been reported till the filing of this report.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents, highlighting ongoing security challenges in parts of the district.
