News Desk: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday strongly rejected reports suggesting that the provincial government plans to abolish Sherani district, terming such claims baseless and misleading.
Addressing a gathering of tribal elders in Zhob, the chief minister expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him by local residents and tribal notables. He said the government had not taken any decision to alter the status of Sherani district and made it clear that no step would be taken without taking the local population into confidence.
“The status of Sherani district remains intact. Any decision regarding administrative matters will only be made after consultation with the people,” Bugti said.
He announced that a fresh meeting would be held with the local Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) and the district administration to discuss issues related to Sherani and address public concerns.
The chief minister emphasized that the provincial government makes decisions with a focus on administrative improvement and public convenience, rather than on speculation or misinformation.
Reiterating the government’s development agenda, Bugti said balanced development across all districts of Balochistan was a top priority. “No area will be neglected. Our aim is to ensure equitable growth and improved service delivery in every district of the province,” he added.
The address came amid circulating reports on social media regarding possible administrative changes in the region, which the chief minister sought to clarify directly before tribal leaders and the public.
