News Desk:

Quetta: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted a major intelligence-based operation in the Darkhshan area of Quetta, killing eight terrorists during a gunfight, officials said.

According to CTD officials, the operation was launched after receiving secret information about the presence of terrorists in the area. When the CTD team moved in, the suspects opened fire on security personnel.

In the exchange of fire, eight terrorists were killed, while three CTD personnel were injured. The injured officials were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

CTD officials said a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was recovered from the terrorists, indicating their involvement in planned terrorist activities.

Initial reports suggest that the killed terrorists were linked to a banned organization, though further investigation is underway. Security forces also carried out a search operation in the area to arrest any possible facilitators or suspects who may have escaped.
