News Desk: The Balochistan government has disbursed Rs3.2 billion in interest-free agricultural loans to 847 farmers under Phase II of the Green Pakistan Initiative, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced.

The chief minister said the financial assistance will bring 35,609 acres of land under cultivation, significantly boosting agricultural output and rural livelihoods across the province. He emphasized that the initiative aims to reduce farmers’ dependence on costly borrowing while encouraging sustainable farming practices.

Phase I Success Lays Foundation for Agricultural Expansion

Highlighting earlier progress, the chief minister stated that Rs6.85 billion in interest-free loans had already been provided to 257 farmers during Phase I of the Green Pakistan Initiative. He said the positive outcomes of the first phase paved the way for expanding the program to benefit a larger number of farmers.

Kissan Card Supporting Small and Poor Farmers

The chief minister added that the provincial government is extending targeted financial support to small and low-income farmers through the Kissan Card, ensuring transparent and easy access to agricultural financing.

He said the provision of interest-free loans under the Green Pakistan Initiative is strengthening the agricultural sector, empowering farmers, enhancing food security, and contributing to long-term economic stability in Balochistan.
