News Desk: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said the provincial government is preparing a new digital media policy in response to declining readership of newspapers in Balochistan.

Speaking in Quetta, the chief minister noted that only a limited segment of the population now reads newspapers published in the province, making it necessary for the government to shift its focus toward digital media platforms for broader public outreach.

He emphasized that the proposed policy will align Balochistan’s media sector with modern communication trends while ensuring responsible journalism. The chief minister also directed newspaper owners to pay their employees’ salaries in accordance with government-approved policies, highlighting the importance of safeguarding the rights of media workers.

He added that the new digital media policy aims to strengthen information dissemination, improve transparency, and support fair labor practices within the media industry in Balochistan.
